They were... frankly willing to do anything we asked...
Good Morning Mark, I wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the security guards MAV Security provided for the FitOne Healthy Living Expo this past September 22 & 23, 2016. They were professional, polite, well-trained and frankly willing to do anything we asked of them which included holding a door open for hours as we had several volunteer no-shows who were assigned this duty. I did chuckle as when I was at the BSU football game last week, you had a full force of security to move people efficiently into the stadium and I had two … not exactly a huge order but very much needed! Please reserve the following dates for the 2017 Expo for two security people, possibly, three: September 21 & 22, 2017. Thanks! Lynn P.S. I hope Wade is used as an example in your training program as he was terrific; I received multiple positive compliments regarding him.
I understand that you are in charge of security at the football games. I have been a season ticket holder for over twenty years and at one time, the Sheriff’s Office was responsible for providing security at the games so I am familiar with the needs and challenges of staffing that service. I’m also familiar with the need to be more efficient and provide better services at lower costs wherever possible. I’ve watched the MAV Event Services people and want to share my thoughts with you. Each time I walk through the gate, they not only provide the security service of checking my stadium seat, but they are friendly and almost always say, “Please enjoy the game.” While simple, it is a nice touch that security personnel demonstrate an interest in making the event enjoyable for patrons. During the game, their backs are to the field and they are paying attention to what matters – the security of the crowd. This is probably what strikes me most as I know most people would be more interested in watching the game. Lastly, they simply appear to be security professionals. The uniformity of the black clothes and high-visibility vests works very well in that environment (and they don’t look like thugs!). I believe appearance is an important deterrent and we’ve all seen security personnel that make us raise our eyebrow and wonder just what they would do if we needed them. In short, these event services people just always appear “on the ball”. So, in closing, I do not know if you or the contractor are responsible for creating the expectations and the level of professional service, but I truly think they are doing a great job and wanted to commend them.
Professional and thorough
Having experience in promoting and producing live events for over 5 years across the country, producing a music festival that is the first of its kind in its host location is no easy task. There are a lot of unknowns and X factors to deal with. One of the best decisions we made for Contour Music Fest was placing the safety and security of our event in the hands of MAV. They are professional and thorough, which is key in a festival atmosphere. Perhaps the attribute of this crew that shone through brightest all weekend was that on top of doing a fantastic job keeping the site secure, they were extremely courteous to our patrons. This goes such a long way from the user’s standpoint, knowing that they are not only completely safe, but that the people providing that safety are helpful and kind. That is a difficult balance to maintain, and MAV provided it as if it was part of their program from square one. I can’t speak highly enough of this team and the organization, and feel they are some of the best in the business. If given the opportunity to work with them in the future, I would do so in a heartbeat.
Consistently provided professional staff
In 2009, Central District Health Department (CDHD) was faced with the responsibility of administering tens of thousands of doses of vaccine to the community in response to the H1N1 influenza pandemic. CDHD employed the services of MAV for a five month period. During this time, MAV consistently provided professional staff to protect our resources (i.e., people and materials) and manage large crowds of people, including children and people with disabilities. As a result of their support, CDHD was able to successfully vaccinate over 90,000 individuals without a single compromise to the mission. Without reliable and top-notch support from MAV, CDHD would have not been able to successfully respond to this public health emergency. Their involvement directly resulted in a decrease in influenza-related illnesses and deaths in our community.
Assistance with H1N1
Thank you for the planning and response assistance provided by yourself and your staff during the H1N1 flu response across the Boise Valley. The planning assistance provided prior to the deployment of pharmaceuticals ensured appropriate locations and staffing for the event. The professional response and management of the large crowds provided a safe and secure environment for the citizens seeking assistance, and for the health officials providing assistance. The involvement of yourself and your professional staff is greatly appreciated and led to a successful deployment.
Protected public from individual driving intoxicated
I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how impressed I was with one of your supervisors (Lynn MacConkey) on Saturday night, March 24th. While myself and another Boise Police Officer worked the Treefort Music Festival in downtown Boise, we had several dealings with Lynn while he worked security for the event. Lynn was very professional and courteous in the contacts we witnessed, and he pointed out several potential “trouble spots” during the course of the event. Most noteworthy was a citizen contact he referred to us, and Lynn escorted the citizen to us to make sure the incident was brought to our attention. This resulted in an arrest for felony DUI. The subject of interest was very intoxicated, and had he been allowed to drive home he would have undoubtedly been involved in a crash. Lynn is a credit to your organization, and I would strongly encourage his continued employment/involvement in any and all events he can work. Lynn is exactly the type of person who causes me to refer as many potential clients to your company as possible. Keep up the good work.
Nothing short of amazing
Thank you. The MAV Crew was once again nothing short of amazing. Doug and Taylor were great leaders and all other crew were on point all the time. Many, many compliments from guests and festival staff. Give my thanks to Sue for scheduling as needed. Go ahead and put us down for same weekend next year and any other event I ever do you are the 1st call.
I thanked a good portion of your crew throughout the weekend and at the end. From being on the inside with your team, I already know what a top-notch and respectful team you have and I can’t imagine working with anyone else. Very very pleased and grateful for how you and your people carry yourselves and interact with music fans.
Courteous and very helpful
On behalf of El Korah Shriner's, I want to commend your team that worked the Festival at our facility. They were courteous and very helpful. They gave us a feeling of security and confidence during the event that our 100 plus year old building was in good hands. We look forward to working with Mav Event Services in the future as the need arises.
Everyone did a great job
A big thanks to you and your staff for the event held the 4th of July weekend in McCall. We host or produce over 30 event weekends per year. In some cases we get groups that know their stuff, but are a challenge to work with. In other situations, we get groups that are easy to work with but have little experience in executing their event. Rarely do we work with an organization that presents the experience your group has along with the pleasure of being so easy to work with. You guys were great!! From top to bottom the staff was professional and efficient…as well as being fun. Steve, Kristine, Joele, Justin, Mark, MAV security and the stage crew were as good as it gets. I know I will forget to thank someone, but the point is that everyone did a great job. As discussed, we have several ideas to put next year’s event together and improve a few of our processes and preparation. Events in McCall present a host of inherent challenges. Please keep in touch, share our thanks with your staff, and we’ll make next year bigger and better than this year! See you at Steve Miller if not sooner.
I am impressed
I thought I’d take a minute to express how impressed I have been with what I’ll call Team MAV. Having been in public safety for nearly 24 years I have interacted with several event service/security providers from a public safety position. MAV’s professionalism in my experience has been of the highest standard. I have interacted with some of you during the Boise State Football Season and I am impressed. I have watched you assist and interact with spectators and most recently assist emergency medical services with a near unconscious person. Your presence and participation with spectators makes a difference. I look forward to working with you in the future.
