MARK VUCINICH President/Chief Executive Officer

Mark was hired by the Los Angeles Police Department in 1987. For the majority of his tenure with the LAPD, he worked a highly specialized anti-gang task force identified as “OWB CRASH.” He also worked patrol for the Los Angeles Raiders in the Los Angeles Coliseum, off duty crowd control at various Hollywood movie sets, VIP and dignitary protection details, as well as fraternity parties at the University of Southern California. In 1994, Mark was hired by the Boise Police Department where he currently holds the rank of Police Detective within the Special Victims Unit. In 1995, Mark began working in the field of crowd management for the Taco Bell Arena, the Ford Idaho Center, Qwest Arena, and the Western Idaho Fair to name a few. In 1999, he was offered the position of Director of Security for Events at Boise State University. The valuable experience he gained working in this capacity is what eventually led to the formation of MAV Event Services.

TERRY LEIGHTON Chief of Operations

Terry has been a firefighter at The Nampa fire department since 1982. He is currently a Battalion Chief who supervises the crews and equipment for five stations and six companies. Terry came on board with MAV in 2009. His duties include supervising over 100 staff members at 30,000 fans sporting events to individual and small group security for entertainers and businesses. An EMT since 1983, Certified First Aid and CPR instructor, and Idaho State Fire Inspector, Terry is a primary instructor for MAV Event Services.

DICK MCCARROLL Director of Operations

Dick was raised on a ranch in Southern Colorado. He completed a Mormon mission in Tokyo, Japan and attended Brigham Young University. Dick owned & operated a fireplace distributor business from 1976 – 2009 and then became a Corrections Officer at Corrections Corporation of America Prison. He has worked for MAV Event Services since 2010. Dick is in charge of hiring, staffing and supervising events. He plays a major role in making sure patrons feel safe and secure no matter how large or small the venue.

AARON COWLISHAW Director of Parking and Traffic Division

Born in Wurzburg, Germany, Aaron spent the first 10 years of his life on military bases. During his father’s second tour of duty, he witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. Aaron has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice/Human Services. Aaron moved to the Treasure Valley in 2006, and has been with MAV since 2013.

MATTHEW LAWSON Assistant Director of Corporate Security

Matt’s security experience includes contract work with the United States Marine Corps and several security companies in the private sector. He has worked in the areas of loss prevention, bail bonds, private investigations, surveillance, client/customer service, special events security and executive protection. He has held event security management positions with the Grammys, Golden Globes, and the Oscars. He has also managed large music venues and several large conventions. He has received Certificates of Achievement in Security Terrorism Training, Security Academy in Leadership, Powers to Arrest/WMD and Terrorism Awareness, CPR and lifesaving skills.


Sue worked for the Boise Police Department as the Senior Accounting Specialist from 1993 -2012. Having been with MAV since its inception, she is responsible for processing MAV’s payroll, customer invoicing, and preparing vendor bids. Sue understands the importance of accurate accounting, and she makes sure our clients and employees are taken care of quickly and accurately.

DIANE ECKHART Training Coordinator

Diane has worked for the Boise Police Department since 1990 coordinating all in-service and vendor training. Diane also oversees all of MAV’s training. With her expertise she ensures that all MAV officers meet the training requirements of the company and client.
